Skin Rejuvenation

Healthier, brighter, more even skin.

Performed bySophie Gatward, NP

Skin rejuvenation treatments target dullness, uneven tone, fine lines and texture. Options may include skin boosters, LED light therapy (Omnilux™) and medical-grade skincare, combined into a plan built for your skin.

Treatments are chosen after a skin assessment and can be paired with home-care products for longer-lasting results.

Products we use: Omnilux™ · AlumierMD — about our products

Ideal for

  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Uneven tone & texture
  • Fine lines
  • Enlarged pores
  • Pre-event glow

What to expect

  1. Skin assessment: Sophie Gatward, NP, looks at your skin type, concerns, health history and current routine, including any medications that make your skin sensitive to light. She then recommends a plan, which may combine in-clinic treatments with medical-grade skincare.
  2. Treatment day: What happens depends on your plan: Omnilux™ LED light therapy is non-invasive and relaxing, while injectable skin boosters involve a series of tiny injections. Appointments usually take 30–60 minutes.
  3. Right after: Most people go straight back to their day. After skin boosters, small bumps, redness or tiny bruises at the injection points are common and usually settle within a few days.
  4. Following weeks: Improvements in glow, tone and texture build gradually over several weeks, especially with a consistent home-care routine. Results vary from person to person.
  5. Series & maintenance: Most options are done as a series of sessions. Results are maintained with periodic visits, daily sun protection and a routine suited to your skin.

Aftercare tips

  • Follow the personalized instructions you receive at your appointment — they take priority over these general tips.
  • Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) every day, and reapply when you're outdoors.
  • Keep your routine gentle for a day or two after in-clinic treatments, and pause strong exfoliants or retinoids unless you're told otherwise.
  • After skin boosters, skip makeup, strenuous exercise, saunas and hot tubs until the next day.
  • Start new skincare products one at a time, as recommended, so it's easier to see how your skin responds.
  • Stay consistent with your home-care routine between visits, since results build over time.

Possible side effects

  • Mild, temporary redness, warmth or sensitivity after treatment, which usually settles quickly.
  • After skin boosters: small bumps, swelling, redness or bruising at the injection points, which usually settle within a few days.
  • Dryness, flaking or stinging while your skin adjusts to new active products such as retinoids or exfoliating acids.
  • Occasionally, irritation or an allergic reaction to a product — stop using it and contact the clinic.
  • Rare but serious (skin boosters): infection or, very rarely, a blocked blood vessel. Worsening pain, or skin that turns pale, white, grey or dusky, needs urgent medical care.
If something doesn’t feel right after your treatment, call the clinic at 416-604-0040. For severe symptoms — such as trouble breathing, vision changes, or skin turning white, grey or dusky — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Frequently asked questions

Which treatment is right for me?

It depends on your skin type, concerns and timeline. Your consultation includes a full skin assessment.

Can I combine it with injectables?

Often, yes — combined plans are very common. Sophie will advise on timing.

Is there any downtime?

Usually very little. LED light therapy has no downtime, while skin boosters can leave small bumps, redness or bruising at the injection points for a few days.

How far ahead of an event should I start?

Because results build gradually, it helps to start several weeks ahead, or earlier if your plan includes a series. If skin boosters are part of your plan, leave time for any small bumps or bruising to settle before the day.

Can I have skin treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Some options aren't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, including injectable skin boosters and certain skincare ingredients such as retinoids. Let us know at your consultation so your plan can be adjusted.

Do I need to buy skincare products too?

Not necessarily. A good home routine helps support and extend in-clinic results, but recommendations are tailored to your skin, and products that already work for you can often stay in your routine.

Individual results vary. All treatments require an in-person consultation and medical assessment to confirm they're right for you. Content on this page is for general information and is not medical advice.
