Two people can point to the same line or hollow and need very different plans. Your face, your skin, your health and your goals are your own, so your plan should be too. At Bloor West Medspa, every plan begins with a consultation and a careful assessment, and is shaped around you rather than a template.
It starts with listening
Your first appointment is a consultation with Sophie Gatward, NP. It begins with you: what you'd like to change, what you'd like to keep, and how subtle you'd like the result to be. You don't need to know treatment names. Describing what you see in the mirror is a great place to start.
Sophie will review your health history, including medical conditions, medications, supplements, allergies and past treatments. She'll then assess your skin and features: how your face moves, where volume has changed, and the overall quality of your skin. As a Nurse Practitioner, she looks at your health as well as your appearance.
How your plan is built
With your goals and assessment in mind, Sophie will suggest a personalized treatment plan that takes into account:
- Your anatomy and facial balance. Your features are considered as a whole, so any change suits your face rather than one area in isolation.
- Your goals. What matters most to you comes first.
- Your timeline. A wedding, a trip, photos or a busy season at work can shape what to do and when.
- Your budget. A plan can be phased over time, starting with your priorities.
Sophie's approach favours subtle enhancement over dramatic change. You can read more about it on our natural-looking results page.
Pricing depends on your plan and is confirmed at your consultation, before any treatment begins. There's no pressure, so take the time you need to think it over and come back with questions.
Combining treatments thoughtfully
Different concerns often have different causes, so a plan may include more than one treatment. For example:
- Botulinum toxin temporarily relaxes the muscles behind expression lines, while dermal filler restores volume and contour. Our guide to Botox vs. dermal filler explains the difference.
- Sculptra® biostimulation helps your skin build its own collagen gradually. See how it compares in Sculptra vs. hyaluronic acid filler.
- Skin rejuvenation and PRP focus on skin quality, such as tone, texture and fine lines.
- Hair restoration with PRP is an option for early to moderate thinning.
Combining doesn't mean doing everything at once. The order of your treatments, and how they're spaced, is decided individually, based on your assessment, how you respond and your timeline. Some plans start with one treatment and add another later.

Planning around your calendar
Treatments work on different timelines, so it helps to plan ahead. As a general guide (results vary from person to person):
- Botulinum toxin: results appear in 3 to 14 days and last about 3 to 4 months.
- Dermal filler: results are visible right away, settle over about 2 weeks and last 6 to 18 months, depending on the area.
- Sculptra®: results build gradually over 2 to 3 months and can last up to 2 years.
- Skin rejuvenation: improvements are progressive over several weeks.
- PRP: changes build gradually over 4 to 6 weeks.
- Hair restoration: results take about 3 to 6 months to appear.
If you have an event coming up, book well ahead. For botulinum toxin and filler, leaving at least two weeks gives results time to develop and any swelling or bruising time to settle. Gradual treatments like Sculptra, PRP and hair restoration need a longer lead time, so mention any important dates at your consultation.
Follow-up and adjusting over time
Your plan doesn't end when your appointment does. You'll leave with clear aftercare instructions, and a follow-up is part of your care. Ask at your appointment how follow-up works for your plan. If something about your result isn't what you expected once it has settled, contact the clinic so Sophie can take a look.
Plans change over time, and that's expected. Results wear off at different rates, your skin changes over the years, and your goals may shift. Your plan can be adjusted along the way, and how often you return is up to you.
Next step: Book a consultation at our Bloor West Village clinic in Toronto to start your plan. Bring your goals, your questions and any dates you're planning around, and take all the time you need to decide.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to decide on a plan at my first appointment?
No. You can take your time, ask more questions and book treatment when you're ready. Some people decide on the day, and others prefer to think it over first.
What if I'm not sure which treatment I need?
That's common, and it's what the consultation is for. Describe what you'd like to change in your own words, and Sophie will explain which options may suit you, if any. You can also browse our treatments before your visit.
Can my plan change over time?
Yes. Your plan is a starting point, not a fixed program. It can be adjusted as you see how you respond, as your goals change or if your health changes. For example, many treatments are postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Can I have more than one treatment on the same day?
Sometimes. It depends on the treatments, the areas involved and your assessment. Sophie will advise whether combining them in one visit suits you, or whether spacing them out makes more sense.
